Happy Tails 2/10

Hi, Just wanted to give you guys an update on Max. He's doing great. Took a weeks or so but he's now poddy-trained (Yeah!). Very welcome development after a week-plus of getting up every few hours to let him out! He's gained about 3 pounds since we got him and we think he's finally okay on the dogfood we're feeding him (Wellness puppy). We had him on boiled chicken and rice for week to try and get his tummy under control -- diarrhea constantly. We've added a sister for him -- we picked up Sophie from a different shelter. They were instant buddies from the second they met. Works out great as they play constantly and wear each other out -- making for tranquil evenings!! Max can now sit, shake hands, lay down, and roll over. Belly rubs are the end-all be-all for him (after food!). We never crate trained him -- just left an open crate for him. He moved in on his own. We occasionally close the door to get him used to being in there and he doesn't seem to mind at all. We're in week 2 of obedience training and he's doing pretty well. Still a ways to go on 'heel'. He's a puller on the leash and it's going to take us time to get him up to speed. Our household is slowly settling into a routine. The cats still aren't too happy -- only one regularly comes into the living room. My favorite cat still won't come out of hiding -- which is really the only downside of all of this. I've attached a PDF file of two photos. Sophie and Max sleeping on the couch. Christopher
