I do apologize for the lack of updates regarding Lewey- the summer hit and my schedule seemed to explode. He is doing so well with everything, though for some reason he freaks out when my nephew runs to go potty. It's weird. He has responded well to the invisible fence, too. It didn't take him very long to get the hang of it, and he LOVES just hanging out in the driveway or on the lawn. He has finished all of his heartworm pills and preventatives and is ready to head to the vet's for his 9 month check-up. My question is- if he isn't fully over the heartworm, what would you prefer my course of action be? He's still coughing, though not very much, and I'm even wondering if that might be allergy related with everything seeding at this time of year. Gotta love that Goldenrod! I took him on a 2 mile walk a couple of days ago. It was pretty easy- only a quarter mile or so of it was a gradual incline, and going home was all downhill. I don't know if he had leash training somewhere in his past, or if he was just tied up so much that he's used to being on some sort of a lead. Either way he didn't pull or run out into the road or anything. We've added half a chicken back to his diet, so he's put on a little weight as well. He looks great!
So, that's what I've got to report- I've attached some pictures as well. Let me know what you'd like me to do in the event he's not completely rid of his heartworm.
Thanks so much!
