Very sorry I didnt sent that fax to you yet. I worked from home the rest of this week so I could make sure Blu was settled and getting into a routine. I will get it to you on Monday AM.
Blu is an unbelievably smart dog! He is responding to his name and slowly understanding where his "spot" is outside for the bathroom. He sits really nice when you go to give a treat - just amazing! Not to say he hasn't had a few accidents but those have been very few! He is getting a lot of play time but like a true pup he likes to nap often. He took a ride today to the vet so my other dog (Hershey) could get her checkup. After that he had a 20 minute playdate with my friends dogs - he is very social!! He figured out how to go up and down the stairs (we have two flights) and that alone is quite the workout for him and lots more exploring. He is crated at night and has been doing really well with a 9PM bedtime, 2or3 am walk, and then back to bed until 7AM. He wakes up when the kids come down for breakfast. During the day he is mostly in the kitchen and has the run of the first floor. He loves his bed in the kitchen! We are going to look into puppy training classes in about 3 weeks once he is completely settled in our home and his routine.
I attached a few pictures from his first night and a couple of him the past few days napping in his bed in the kitchen. He loves his blankets and walks them around the house! Thank you again for everything! We are beyond thrilled with Blu and I think he is with us as well!! Charmaine
Where do I even start. Lisa has been a crucial member of our team since the beginning. Started out as our staff nursemaid, fostering pregnant mommies and birthing multiple litters of puppies. She quickly evolved into an essential part of the rescue's core. She is involved in various local rescue efforts. Our local expert in tracking, trapping and capturing lost, scared or escaped dogs. A true advocate for local dogs and a true rescue warrior. We would not be where we are without Lisa!!!
Linda adopted her dog Mickey from our rescue many years ago. After learning about our rescue efforts she wanted to help. She is a long time volunteer with The Last Resort. Linda is our fundraising coordinator and works very hard orchestrating fundraising events that enable us to continue saving more lives. Linda loves to create new and different fundraising ideas. She prefers to get hands on with the dogs and loves the events where our adoptable dogs can attend, helping them get the much needed exposure they need to find their forever homes.

Marissa is A rock star ! Aside from a legal career and a busy mom, Marissa has fostered so many dogs for our rescue. She opens her own home many weekends to manage and facilitate transports with dogs arriving from other states so that they can meet their new foster and forever homes here in NJ. Marissa Is also our volunteer legal council. Her 2 daughters, rescuers in the making help her with the dogs and rescue projects!! We are lucky to have her on our team and appreciate ALL that she does for us and the dogs !!
Carolyn and Dean Nasson
Long time volunteers for the Last Resort. Carolyn and Dean have helped us save so many lives over the years ! Always ready and willing to sacrifice their weekend to help transport pups far and wide to get to the safety of their new foster and adoptive homes. Or donating an entire Saturday driving to some remote location to do a home visit so that a pup can finally start their happily ever after. They are always willing to help whenever and however they can. You would be hard pressed to find to kinder, more stellar humans !!!
Janice has been a volunteer with our rescue in many forms for many years. From fostering multiple dogs, to unexpected roadside rescues, to random road trips to bring dogs to safety!! Janice helps us screen applications and do home visits. With a get-er-done attitude and fearless rescue spirit. She is a true Rescue warrior ! And we are so very grateful to have her on the team!!
